Launched by President S R Nathan on 14 Nov 2005, the President's Design Award is Singapore's highest honour for designers and designs. 9 recipients were conferred the inaugural President's Design Award in 2006. The PDA will run its second cycle over the course of 2007.
The President's Design Award acknowledges that Singapore's design industry has reached a key milestone by attaining significant achievements in fields such as architecture and urban design, fashion design, industrial and product design, interior design and visual communications design. It is awarded to individuals and designs that are pushing the boundaries of Singapore design, tangibly making a difference to the lives of Singaporeans and larger global communities.
Administered by the DesignSingapore Council, Ministry of Information, Communications and the Arts, and the Urban Redevelopment Authority, the Award has two categories: Designers of the Year and Designs of the Year.

The Architectural Design Festival is an annual festival for the city to celebrate the built environment. Design professionals of all fields will be encouraged, invited and guided to interact in a fun and free atmosphere. The main components will be an Architectural Exhibition, and a 3-day forum, coupled with several fringe activities, including an ideas competition for housing in Marina south, and the SIA Industrial Awards.

Utterubbish is the first proprietary design show, which is conceived, developed and curated in Singapore for a global audience.
It brings together the collective talents of the most progressive local and international designers and covers a wide range of creative disciplines, including product design, fashion, graphics, environmental design and architecture.
A holistic design experience comprising an exhibition, publication, talks, workshops and products, Utterubbish not only provides a design discourse originated in Singapore but seeks to engage a wide spectrum of the public, demonstrating the importance of design in daily living.
Utterubbish is a joint project by Black Design and The Kairos Consultancy.
