Interested in taking a stroll along the Swiss Alps? Now is your chance!
The Swiss House Singapore, a platform of the Swiss Embassy, invites you to visit the travelling exhibition “Inventioneering Architecture” which has been celebrated by audiences around the world including China, the US and Japan.
“Inventioneering Architecture” will be on display in VivoCity from 21 November to 9 December 2007. The exhibition is free of charge and can be viewed daily from 10am to 10pm.
Designed and built by professors and students of the Swiss Federal Institutes of Technology Zurich (ETHZ) and Lausanne (EPFL) as well as the University of Lugano (USI), “Inventioneering Architecture” features an interactive 40-metre-long platform of an imaginative cross-section of the Swiss Alps. Walking along this unique installation, visitors are invited to explore a distinctly Swiss take on architecture, technology and design. Visit the exhibition and find out about inventioneering made in Switzerland!
Visitors are also warmly invited to join us at the “Inventioneering Architecture” lecture series to learn more about the making of the exhibition and to explore issues pertaining to sustainable architecture, design and education.
Amongst the invited speakers are Prof. Harry Gugger, partner in the prestigious Basel architecture firm, Herzog & de Meuron; Prof. Valentin Bearth, Dean at USI Mendrisio as well as two of the designers of this creative project Jörg Stollmann and Dirk Hebel of the Swiss Federal Institute of Technology in Zurich.
“Inventioneering Architecture” is a Singapore Design Festival partner and has been made possible thanks to the generous contribution of Vivo City, Holcim, Marché, Presence Suisse, the Swiss State Secretariat for Education and Research and the three participating Swiss architecture schools ETH Zurich, EPF Lausanne and USI Mendrisio.
The exhibition is kindly supported by the NUS Department of Architecture, the Board of Architects, the Singapore Institute of Architects and the Singapore Urban Redevelopment Authority.
